About Me

the woman behind living la vida bella

There is a quiet moment many of us experience in midlife. We look in the mirror and realize our bodies are changing. Our energy feels different. The routines that once worked no longer do. And sometimes, the woman staring back at us feels like someone we don’t quite recognize.

Understandably, it can feel confusing, even a little frightening, especially when no one prepared us for it.

My name is Cindy. Welcome to Living La Vida Bella, a midlife beauty and wellness blog for women who are ready to navigate this season honestly, beautifully, and on their own terms. I lovingly call it LLVB, a name that honors my Dominican roots and reflects something I have always believed. We are meant to live beautifully at every stage of life.

A Season that Asked Me to Slow Down

As a woman in my late forties, I understand this season personally. Hormonal shifts can feel sudden. Time can feel like it moved faster than we expected. And sometimes it feels like we are trying to find our footing again in a body that is asking for something new.

For most of my life, my answer to anything hard was to push through it. Work harder. Do more. Figure it out. Maybe that sounds familiar to you too.

But midlife asked me a question I wasn’t expecting. What if the way forward isn’t pushing harder? What if it’s learning to pause?

After nearly two decades in the beauty industry as a licensed hairstylist and makeup artist, I have walked alongside women during some of the most meaningful days of their lives. I have seen how beauty evolves over time. Skin changes. Energy changes. Priorities become clearer. And many women quietly wonder if they are losing something along the way.

And yet I do not believe we are losing.

I believe we are becoming more refined, more aware, and more grounded than ever before.

Over the past decade I transformed my health in a slow and sustainable way, losing fifty pounds and committing to strength training. Along the way I learned how to support my body through hormonal changes, first with PMOS (formerly known as PCOS) and now with perimenopause, rather than fighting against it. That journey required patience, discipline, and a different kind of grace.

It also required me to stop hustling through a season that was asking me to slow down.

That’s what this space is about.

What You Will Find on This Midlife Beauty and Wellness Blog

Living La Vida Bella is where we talk honestly about hormone supportive wellness, evolving beauty, emotional resilience, and building a life that feels steady and intentional. It is a place to exhale. A place to remember who you are beneath the noise. And a place to give yourself permission to approach this season differently than you’ve approached everything else.

You do not have to earn the right to rest or prove that you need it. Just choose it.

Faith is part of my foundation. It shapes how I approach growth, gratitude, and the courage it takes to change. You do not have to share my beliefs to feel at home here. This space is for any woman who is ready to honor her age, her body, and her beauty. Without filters, pressure, or pretense.

Living beautifully is not about holding on to who we once were.

It is about caring well for the woman we are today.

If you are navigating this season with questions, curiosity, or even quiet overwhelm, I see you. And I’m so glad you’re here.
